Left over banana skins? Make your plants some tea!

I mean, you can also make yourself some tea of course, here i'll show you how to do both so you and your plants can share a mindful moment nurturing your bodies. We often think of the peel as waste but for most of us, these little wonders have travelled all the way around the world to get to our kitchen and they are much more than a prop in a cartoon! Bananas are a great source or potassium but did you know their skin also contains phosphorus, calcium, sodium, magnesium and iron? Put your peels in a pan of boiling water with some cinnamon and you very quickly have a peaceful night time drink, containing beneficiary sleep amino acids melatonin and seratonin, with a sprinkle of dietary fibre to ward away colon issues. For your plants, simply chop them up and place them into some cold water, leaving it to steep for a few days and use on your fruiting plants! Tomatoes, peppers, roses, will all thank you! I tend to use a touch of this on every plant in the garden every so often to give them just a little boost. To increase their potential fertilising properties and to make them last longer in your tea stores, dry them out using a dehydrator or an oven on low, you can just leave them out in the sun if you have the right conditions, but it may take a few days.
